Overton Chalks up Win #3 on Southern Nationals Tour

7/26/2019 Overton Chalks up Win #3 on Southern Nationals Tour

All 35 laps at the Crossville Speedway for round 7 of the Schaffer’s Oil Southern Nationals belonged to the Rum Runner Racing #2 and driver Brandon Overton.

After a strong run in hot-laps and qualifying, Overton started the feature from the outside pole position. When the green flag flew, Overton jumped to the lead and never looked back. Lap traffic, late race cautions, and a hard charge by Jason Jameson were not enough to break Overton’s stride around the high banked clay oval.

With 2 races left on the tour, the Rum Runner Racing team is in a close points battle. Last night, the glad was closed by almost half. The final 2 races take place at 411 Speedway tonight, and Tazewell Speedway on Saturday night. Overton has had success at both tracks in the past, scoring a 2nd place finish at 411 earlier this year.

Once again, we would like to thank all our partners that are a huge part of this team and our success. Schaeffer’s Oil, Penske Racing Shocks, PFC Brakes, SRI, Draco Springs, Simpson Race Products, Stilo, ETG, EZ-GO, Willy’s Carb & Dyno, Wiles Drive Shafts, MoTec, Airshok, Race-fan, Molecule, DriveRefine, B&A Farms, VP Racing Fuels, and Hoosier Tire by Brian.

Also a special thanks to the entire team for their long hours of hard work. Harold Holly, Brandon Overton, Matthew Nance, Daniel Stolte, Michael “Stix” Reynolds, Dan Tate “the old guy”, and all those that help at the track when and where they can.
