Rum Runner Racing: Straight to the Wild Wild West

12/28/2018 Rum Runner Racing: Straight to the Wild Wild West

Overton: Straight to the Wild Wild West

No time is being wasted at Rum Runner Racing in 2019. Brandon Overton and the rest of the crew will start the season at the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout with six nights of racing starting January 5th. This will be Rum Runner Racing’s first trip to this event and Overton’s 2nd.
It has been a really busy few weeks since our last outing, which was just a few weeks ago at the Gateway Dirt Nationals. Since then we have assembled two brand new Rocket X-R1 chassis, re-designed the graphics, switched drivers, cleaned the toilets, mounted & grooved 20+ tires, and misplaced and found Harold’s coffee cup 7 times. To say that I am impressed with how quickly everything has come together is a huge understatement. I really find it funny that we call this time of the year the “off season.” Looking at the calendar, we have just as long of break after we leave Volusia in February.

Since we made the announcement that Brandon was climbing behind the wheel, we have put together a ton of great partnerships and still have a few in the works. Rather than writing one long run on sentence, here is the list of partners that will appear on the #2 this season as of today, in no order.

• Penske Shocks
• PFC Brakes
• Shaffer’s Oil
• VP Racing Fuels
• Hoosier Tires by Brian
• Willy’s Carburetor and Dyno
• Race-Fan
• EZ-GO
• Simpson Race Products
• Shell Shock • SRI
• Earnhardt Technologies Group
• Airshok
• Wiles Drive Shafts
• C&H Paving
• Cornett Thunder Racing Engines
• CIV Driver Optimization
• Molecule
• Dirt Wrap

We are all honored to have the support of all these great companies and we plan on making them proud starting next weekend.

Expectations are always hard to set, but this year we are all shooting high. Brandon has had great success in the last couple years and over that same time period, we have been building a top shelf organization at Rum Runner Racing. I personally can’t wait to see how the season starts off way out west. For those that can’t make it out there to see it in person, dirtondirt.com will have live ppv coverage. They do a good job from time to time. Follow us on twitter- @joeycoulter for updates and check out rumrunnerracing.net every night for updated results.
